Make Your Own Wood Pellets – 3 Steps Done Easily

Step1: Prepare your raw materials.

The collection to raw materials is easy for they are everywhere in your life. Wood, leaves, grass, straw, sawdust…anything organic you can imagine is available. After raw materials are ready, you should consider whether size and moisture of them are proper. Size of raw material shouldn't be larger than the size of pellet mill die holes, or accumulation will happen inside the machine, even damage will occur. Moisture of raw materials shouldn't be lower than 14%, or higher than 18%. Usually 15% will be fittest for pelletizing. Or the pelletizing rate and quality will be affected.

Step 2: Putting raw materials to your pellet mill for processing.

In this stage, a good wood pellet mill will be the key to pelletizing. A small, portable and efficient machine should be your ideal choice to own. Take the machine of GEMCO for example. Our wood pellet mills are made in flat die design. This design enables you to make your own wood pellets easily and conveniently. After starting the machine, you just need to put the prepared materials into it, and then the die and the rollers will run to compress materials to die holes and form dense columned granules. A knife inside the machine will cut the granules to uniform size. Thus, you have your wood pellets done.

Step 3: Cool down your wood pellets.

Wood pellets just finished are of high temperature. Direct touch may lead to burn. With the help of a cooler, or cooling down them naturally, you can harvest your own wood pellets now. No matter use, or storage, or transportation is OK. Good sealing to them will guarantee their quality.
